The Vagrant is a 2D hack n' slash game with a strong inspiration of Vanillaware's games in which we play as Vivian who seeks to resolve doubts about her family and ancestors, Why did her father abandon her? Why does her family train in a unique art? Those are questions that she seeks to solve.

About the Story and Setting
Vivian, a vagrant as the tittle suggest, embarks on a quest to understand the diary entries of her father, whom she does not initially hold in high esteem and wants to figure out his actions. But after a mishap, she finds a specter attacking a town and meets Holborn, a powerful mage from the Academy, and they work together (by force) to solve the case.
As the adventure begins, we will discover this world, divided into 6 maps, from enchanted forests, dead realms and the void itself. And although the game is linear, there are alternate routes to explore and discover more things.

About Mechanics and Gameplay
Vivian uses only a type of weapon, the sword, that you will find or buy throughout the game, which you can improve with mana and runes, we also have a skill tree to improve attributes and cost of arts (skills that we must find), but there are things that the game does not mention as each weapon has an attack speed and double jump is within the skill tree, these are mechanics that if not known can make the experience a little frustrating.
The combat section is the strong point of the game as it feels fluid to attack, dodge and use the arts, the enemies in general have attacks that can be predicted, but sometimes the game puts you in situations with many enemies or they can attack you off screen.

Worthwhile?
Overall, The Vagrant is a game worth checking out if you like action platformers, the battles are fun and the story is good enough to keep you hooked. You can complete the campaign in 10 hours and the double if you want to complete the 100%.
