Birdcakes

Birdcakes is a somewhat peculiar game, is a 2d shooter with roguelite elements where we control a cake that can fly, hence its name? Not exactly! there is more inside this colorful story.

So, what is the story about?

The story is about Pancake and his girlfriend Cherry, during a picnic a pesky fly attack her and now he needs to escape and protect her from them!

Basically this is all we need to know, but the more we progress a bird will start telling us a story of a mad scientist called Kyle and his disdain for the world, little by little you will get to know the background of the game (if you complete the game quickly you will need more runs to listen the story complete).

So, what is the gameplay?

The game is a classic 2D shooter you can move, aim, shoot and kill everything around you!

Our main goal is to protect Cherry from those fly, but be aware that some are more interested in attacking you instead, as you progress you will encounter new types of fly. To get that far you would need get hold of enhanced abilities from the shop, like Double Fire rate or Spiked Candy.

Birdcakes has 20 levels divided into 6 worlds (3 levels each) and 2 bosses, once you complete the story you will have a new infinite mode, where you control Cherry (same gameplay without upgrades).

Is recommended?

Overall, Birdcakes is an enjoyable and short game, if you find it on sale, give it a try, will take you 4 hours to finish the story and more if you want a challenge in the infinite mode.
