In American Fugitive at the very beginning we are contacted by our father, who asks us to have a conversation in person, we reluctantly agree only to find that he was recently murdered. Coincidentally the police arrive on the scene and we are framed for his death. Who killed him? and why? These are the questions we are going to solve after escaping from prison, because of course we are going to escape, so we will also be fugitives. We will receive help from acquaintances and their contacts, who will obviusly ask us for jobs to be done, smuggling, robberies, and so on.

Gameplay wise, we have a game that recalls the old GTA games with a zenithal view, we can use a lot of weapons, items and vehicles. Being an open world, we are free to move around the 3 available areas, finding a lot of criminal activity, and collectibles in the form of magazines and safes, this of course also attracts the police, generating chases with a star system, increasing the difficulty. Additionally we can find challenges such as racing, destruction and even use a tank.
On the other hand, the campaign missions, although simple missions to go from A to B, will allow us to progress with the story, unlocking the 2 zones that at the beginning we can not cross.

Overall, American Fugitive presents a mixed bag of experiences , combining nostalgia with contemporary gameplay mechanics. You can find it enjoyable for its simple, fun mechanics reminiscent of classic top-down games like early GTA titles, as mentioned, the activities you can do are good, but the missions leave a lot to be desired, causing a concern over repetitiveness and the lackluster story, but its charming aesthetics and engaging premise, it appeals to those who appreciate the crime genre.
