Oxygen Not Included

Insane building fun!
Update

This game is still in early release, so that means glitches. But also means lots of updates, new things to try, and fixes to problems in updates. As well as new scenarios!

game mode

There are many game modes to try, settings to play with, and things to make your game easier or harder depending on the challenge you want.

Load screen

When you are first spawned into the map, there are a few tutorials and guides to help you get started.   You dont have much of your map open. I suggest putting in a bathroom and beds ASAP.

start building

When you start building and cleaning out areas, you'll notice that there are plenty of items to collect.  Some of the creatures that live in this strange place can eat them, so try to put them away in containers asap or risk losing them.

containers

You can sort items in containers, or make specific containers just to hold certain items.  You will find keeping containers of necessary items close to their stations will help a lot with timing.  Also with cleanliness.

food

Make sure you have a food source right away.

shroom farm.

Farms can be built in different areas, and environments.

farm specs

There are many places to check in on your little hovel.  This picture shows the different farm specs and how things are growing.  A few others below show different things.

oxygen

Oxygen is NOT included, so many sure to check your levels in your cave.  Carbon dioxide piles up fast in lower levels.. so be careful about building down there..

research

Researching unlocks items you will need as your home base grows.  Building a research station is very important in the beginning.

power

Mining copper and putting in a power station is important, because your oxylite will not last forever. Build oxygen machines and water pumps, so your algae farms can suck up all that nasty carbon dioxide.

h2 0h no

Water can be a limited resource.  Youll need a place to put your polluted water and pumps to bring it up to sieves to clean it.  Showers, toilets, and Slime purifiers need a drainage area.  The smells will upset your survivors, so make adjustments to that.  Doors and air purifiers can be helpful.

water
clean bathrooms

Disease can spread far and wide with dirty hands.  Try to keep all bacterial things separated and wash stations everywhere.  It really is a pain to clean everything once it gets nasty. Especially with sick survivors.

rooms

Rooms set up with certain things have bonuses. Trust me, we need all the help we can get!

health

There are many menu's you can look through to check on the status of pretty much everything in the game.  You can also adjust many things.

Such as Jobs, items they will eat, and how much to eat.

seed

Seed numbers can be found in the pause menu, and you can use these to try the same map over and over.

My Opinion: I have 516 hours into this game.  I could still play it for hours. It's almost like solitaire. Just enough relaxing with just enough challenge.  The early release can be buggy at times, but it seems the second the game starts to get boring or repetitive they release an update that starts the fun all over again.   I do wish there were achievements in this game. But it just gives me something to look forward too.  It can be a bit overwhelming at times to play, there is plenty to learn.  Over all a great game to play and relax too.  I haven't made it "out" or survived a single level yet. But I guess the fun for me is the base building and surviving.

Score 10 out of 10

Seems like a giant pen doodle come to life. Very simple textures. Runs great. Simple but not boring. Adorable temper tantrums, and other sound effects keep this game adorably fun.

Trapped in an asteroid, gotta find a way out. Don't die. That's all you get. Simple but fun.

Its not too hard, but yet not too easy. As the game progresses things get more complicated, and things can go wrong very very quickly. Save often after large builds or save before new builds so you can back track if you need to. I have often killed all my people over night due to oxygen loss due to power failure. Plan ahead! Starvation, sickness, and suffocation come quickly. Especially when using the Red Alert Button.
