Wings of Vi

Even angels makes mistakes, just look at Lucifer

Wings of Vi. Or how I called it 100 minutes of frustration till the moron that played it realized it’s a kaizo platformer. Sigh my luck again, why I didn’t look at tags before picking this game. I saw colorful angels and metroidovanian vibe the screenshots gave me and thought “Probably going to be an interesting game”. It wasn’t fun, it was very frustrating. Definitely not my kind of masochistic pleasure. But I’m not mad at it, it’s just that kind of genre.

Lucky devil on the right, two dumb ass idiots on the left

So what is the plot of this game? Two dumbass angels were bored and decided to have fun by throwing stones at a sealed demon lord. “What can possibly go wrong?” said Bubsy the cat. “Everything” answered me. If you wonder why nobody guarded the room I’ll answer. Bimbo angel number 1 made them go away. And how convenient that the lever that turns off the binds is in the same room. Then demon lord just “fusrohdahd” us in the lever and released himself. That lead to invasion of the angel real by demons. Good job you morons, no go and fix it. And of course the dumbass responsible for this mess going to do jack and squat, we have to do everything. But I’m not going to. Over years of playing I realized that nerve cells are far more valuable than cheap thrill you can get from beating that one part that took you hours of attempts. I’m past that shite. Nuh uh, hell nah, I’m out.

To this day I don't know what's worse being intentionally evil or stupid

Gameplay. As every kaizo platformer goes we have very tight and responsive control that will make you fingers wet from sweat. You go from a checkpoint to another checkpoint till you meet a boss. In this platformer your set of moves will broaden with each angel feather you find. First you’ll get a flutter move, yes like in the Yoshi game. Then slide move, then double jump then I gave up. Not only it’s hard to play you will also get lost easily. You also have a weapon that dumbass №1 attempted to use but was quickly btfo’d. So our first weapon (I read that there are more but I only had one and patience for another) is a staff that slice like that weapon from Castlevania SoTN Crissogrim or whatever was its name. But unlike SoTn weapon it doesn’t hit continuously we need to tap. There is combat and it sucks ass. Enemies ignore your hits and keep going at you. Usually in a kaizo platformer you die in one hit. In Wings of Vi this is optional thankfully. Still I suffered for 100 minutes that with that time I managed to get to the second level. I even beat two bosses and it was as frustrating as you can imagine, probably took me 30 tries just at boss alone. First boss had 5 move sets and a power up when his health dropped to 50%. Having slide button be different that jump button added frustration to my experience. I understand why, but feck that flutter it’s really uncomfortable to play on a keyboard.  But whatever I’m done with it anyway.

If you going to ask my name I will answer like this

So in the end I want to say as someone who over the years grew tired of those “maso” games I do not recommend it to anyone but kaizo enjoyers. No well-endowed angel is going to make sit through another one like this just for pretty picture. If you want a truly frustrating kaizo then play “I wanna be the guy” or just Kaizo Mario. Good day.

I need some horse tranquilizers to calm my rage
Score 4 out of 10

Pixel art looks quite good, but I can still feel something off.

Once again I was to frustrated to appreciate.

I hate Kaizo games. IWBTG was the second game that caused my gaming rage
