G.I.B.Z. or Gluttonous Idiotic Bloody Zombies is a side scrolling Shoot’em up where you must stop an evil wizard who used dark magic to raise hordes of dead from their eternal rest. You have an arsenal of guns and melee weapons that you must first unlock or find to use. You can also use hats and face accessories for your advantage and to look fashionable while putting the dead back to rest. You can also relieve the dead of their wealth, you use said wealth to buy things or upgrade your stats.
You start by defending a church from a small horde of zombies. You then can use that church as your hub/sanctuary where you can change your weapons, buy hats or consumables. From there you enter the world map. You can encounter many events on that map including the obstacles that prevents your progress. Let’s talk about events that you can encounter.
Regular battle: Couple of crates and small horde of zombies. Starting from the second boss locations there will be new enemies among usual zombies. New enemies such as suicide chicken, walking flesh pile that will drop leeches upon being hit. Werewolf, at first he will slowly approach you but as he takes damages will go berserk and pounce you. Legless masked buff zombie that throw rocks at you. Skeletons that are very durable and will attack you until only their torso remain. Victims of mad four armed zombie doctor those are usual zombies but their arms are replaced with blades.
Zombie surfing: You kick one zombie and use hit as a surfboard. Hit other zombie, collect coins and hit ramps while surfing.
Gravestone: This one is a side boss battle with a huge crawling skeleton that will use sharp bones that hits you from the underground and if not destroyed will turn into regular skeletons.
Shovel: This mini game lets you dig ground for hidden treasures.
Big Machine Gun: Last stand mini game. Mount big Maxim looking mini gun and start cranking cause big hoard of zombies will be there in a couple of second. Make sure you don’t overheat the minigun’s barrels.
Big Horde: In this mini game infinite horde of zombies will attack you. Kill as many as you can before they overwhelm you to unlock new hats.
Wandering Merchant: Sells you all kind of stuff.
Then there is base defense. It’s place to the right of the first church. You play camp defense there. Buy upgrades use building material to build your fortification and hire mercenaries to help you defend your camp. After that just ring a bell and invite hordes of zombies to dinner.
What's left? Bosses, there are 7 of them including 1 that you can skip. The difficulty gradually increases with each new boss. You can also buy revive items to fight bosses again it’s needed for some achievements. I’m not going spoil you on the bosses, because it is more fun to discover them yourself… apart from that skeleton one. Oh! Few more words about your arsenal you have your main gun and side piece + melee. Also with a certain perk, if you trigger a big chain of kills, you’ll be given a temporary super golden weapon. Don’t forget to melee projectiles thrown at you that way you strike them back at your enemy.
I had a lot of fun playing it along with my friend. Co-op is up to 4 players so you can quadruple your fun time. Definitely worth every (insert your country currency).
