Donuts’n’Justice. This one is side scrolling twin stick shooter. It’s going be a short review since there isn’t much to talk about it.
Plot. There is no plot, you go through 4 stages. Guess the only plot is that at the end of the game aliens abduct you and that’s it. And after you beat it the chief congratulates you. Yeah game’s very short I beat it three times in an hour.

Gameplay. You move around a scrolling screen and shoot enemies that attack you from both sides. You press “x” to shoot left and press “c” to shoot right, you can also press space to throw a grenade. That’s about controls.
Now enemies, you’ll encounter 1-3 types of enemies on each stage. First stage has these enemies: thug that shoots his gun, thug that throws Molotov and a biker. Second Stage: Asian thug with an uzi and shirtless Asian thug with a machete. Third stage only has punks that uses uzi. Lastly one stage four Neo looking trench coat dudes will shoot you with ray guns, there are two types of them. One uses rapid fire ray gun and the other uses long beam gun.
Guns. First thing you need to unlock them by collecting badges from defeated enemies. Second, you pick up guns from boxes that are dropped by killed enemies. Except for starting gun all other guns have limited ammo. List of the firearms: uzi, shotgun, magnum, sniper rifle, flamethrower, bazooka, freeze ray, DNA gun.
Power ups. As the most thing they drop from fallen enemies. Here’s the list. Doughnut: heals one HP. Box of grenades: restock your grenades. Box: contains random unlocked weapon. Mushroom: Slow motion for 10 seconds. P can: buffs your weapon for 10 seconds. Money: you collect those for hat shop. Bulletproof vest: Gives you 3 temporary hit points. There are also 3 Halloween related power ups that drops from enemies if you equip a pumpkin hat. They are candies, pumpkins and witch’s hat. I don’t know what first two does but the hat summons a witch that carpets bomb the area.

Difficulty. There are easy normal and hard. Which actually shout be, normal bullshit and bullshit. On normal difficulty enemies deal full heart of damage, killing a civilian make your weapon jam for 10 seconds. I did not try hard because feck that shit I’m too old for this. It wouldn’t be that bad if it weren’t for two main problems. First problem are civilians, they’ll make sure that they will eat all of your bullets. Since enemies attack you from both sides and civies are slow and usually walk in a wave pattern, they are big pain in the butt. But the biggest and annoying problem is that controls are ass and you can’t change them. You move by using arrows and shoot with x and c. You can imagine how irritating it for someone who’s not Japanese and used to “wasd” keyboard controls. So beating a level with such controls or anything but easy is a big pain. Bosses are super easy, so easy that I don’t why they are not used as regular enemies in the next stages. Seriously getting to the boss is far more difficult than beating a boss.
Lastly there is a shop. In the shop you can buy hats. There are 3 rows of them, first row goes for 500$ a hat, second for 1000$ and third for 2000$ per hat. Some hats provides bonuses some are just cosmetics. The only useful hat imo one that makes civilians invincible.

There is also boss rush but it is so ass that it’ll take a minute to go through it. Yes, you can skip this one for sure, not much fun it. I wouldn’t be so harsh since it’s “100% indie title” but I’m not going to overlook inability to change controls. So skip or 90% discount.
