Beat Cop. This one is action time management. We are going to take role of regular police officer on streets of Brooklyn. At first I really liked it but couple of bugs and situations made me quite mad. But still overall I liked it more than I hated it.

Anyway here the plot. We are detective Jack Kelly of Ney York police Department. And we in a middle of action, some burglars broke into big villa and we were nearby. We shot one but another criminal flees the scene taking whatever was in the villa’s safe. Turns out we were inside of the senator’s villa and his diamonds went missing. Now he’s accusing us of stealing them. So while the case in progress we are demoted to regular beat cop and we’re sent to Brooklyn. There a stereotypical black police chief going to scream at us every single day regardless of how well we perform our work. He will compliment us but he still be screaming at us. We have several coworkers: stereotypical strong female cop, perverted Latino cop, cop who looks like Butters from South Park and one of screen cop that we are never going to see. We going to live through work month and see if we can help our own case while performing the duties.

So our turf or our beat is one street from 605 to 633. Every day we dropped off in the middle of the street. But this is a first time so officer Fat Mike will be our instructor, he only got one day till retirement. First he will teach us how to write a car ticket.
We look at a car and here what we need to spot. Parking meter, if it’s red (expired) then we write a parking ticket, check parking violation then we write our badge number and our sign. After we did that we can call a tow truck so car can be towed away. You can either pick a “look at parking meter” option or just spot if it has a tiny red dot on it to tell if it’s expired. Remember it’s not just expired time on a parking meter. If a car parked on a big “NO PARKING” sign you can obviously write a ticket for it. There are also fire hydrants, cars are not allowed to park near them since they will obstruct firemen work. Don’t forget to call a tow truck on them, it’s not necessary every time but sometimes you’ll be required to do it.
The second thing we need to look at is condition of car’s tires. If the protector is too worn out we write a tires ticket. We can pick a “check tires” option to be sure. Or we can look if there are tires marks on the asphalt, but it doesn’t work every time since those tire marks could be from another vehicle. But it works in like 85% cases.
Next thing is lights. We need to make sure that they are not broken. As usual we can pick “check lights” options. Or we can squint our eyes and check if we see spark pixels on a car. If we you see them then write lights ticket.

Well that’s a big part of what are you going to do every day. There are also several stores, apartments, diners and a church. Since it is Brooklyn of 80’s it’s ridden with crime and filth. So here other thing you are need to be aware of. There are two major criminal organizations that made your street their turf. They are Mafia and The Crew. First one is Italians who use a restaurant as their local base of operation. They do the usual Italian stuff which is racket, extortion, drug dealing etc. Second one is “The Crew”, those are African-Americans or “basketball people” or “13%”. As you can guess they do drug pushing, stealing, carjacking, pimping and selling stolen items at their pawn shop.
Honestly I hate them both since they are pain in my neck but Italians at least well-mannered and civilized. But that’s not the point, the point is you have a “reputation” bar with each faction. That bar goes from 0 to -100 or +100. If you play a good cop and stick to your duties than about two weeks in you’ll be killed by The Crew. Yes you “R” bar with The Crew go down real fast since they commit a lot of crimes and they are not discreet about it like Mafia. So your choices are: Ignore pushers (safest option), ignore carjackers and thieves (your paycheck will be deducted if you don’t catch them red handed and chief will scream at you next morning on a briefing), do a side hustle for them which will increase your reputation with a faction, pay priest to increase your reputation (worst option IMO, cost too much and there is a middleman).
Alright, what else is there? Through the day several event will happen. Simple one like searching for a cat for a little girl. Or shooing away youth who plays music too loud. To some real bizarre cases which are frankly out of your jurisdiction. But I’m not going to spoil them for you, I’ll just explain that sometime you’ll be required to conduct a search on a car or check the car’s license plate. When you doing a search you need to move a tire two tiles away because there where your point of interest is.
Right, you are also required to have an okay memory since you not only need to remember where what is on your street. But you also need to able to remember names of couple of cars. Don’t worry too much about it, officer Kelly will tell what kind of car it is once you click on it. And don’t forget to remember the numbers of apartment’s room and surnames when it is required. Well buddy, you are ready now watch how Fat Mike eats whole kilogram of lead you are ready to be a police officer, good luck.

That was a good game, people rightfully compare it to “Papers please” because it has very similar gameplay + the action part where we run around. So I recommend this game since I enjoyed it and had a lot of fun with it. Oh! One more thing, be careful with taking bribes, and don’t get spotted by the plain clothes.
