Arcane Arts Academy 2. Well apart from the continuation of the plot not much could be said about this game. It’s the same time management game just with couple more of new scenes and minigames. Should new features be added with every new game? Is formula already perfect and does not need any further improvement? That’s not for me to decide I’m fine with no new changes with gameplay. I say if you want different thing try time management games from other developers. I still don’t get why SQRT3 decided to ditch QTEs in cut scene from the first Barbarous game.
Anyway the plot. One year have passed since Erika Tinley joined the “Arcane Arts” academy. She learned a lot about light magic and magic of order. Due to the incident with magical equilibrium Erika is now popular among the students especially the fresh ones. Her friend Siren Griffin gave birth to the teacher’s child and they got married… I think. Siren’s brother William still treating his lycanthropy. Chen the Chose graduated and joined magical corporation “Abracadabra”. Margy is still a student, nothing much changed for her apart for making friends she still shy though. Problems didn’t make Erika wait for long. First 3rd year student named Dominic Mbeke came back from his leave and he’s very angry that Erika got all the fame in the academy. And since he’s new prefect he will make sure that Erika don’t have a moment to fool around. Then there’s Siren’s financial status. Her husband, Mr. Makarov who also a teacher in the Academy have to work as an undercover agent so for a time period Siren’s going to exist on a low income. Situation is so bad that Siren can’t even afford baby formula for her newborn. That’s where Erika suggests a “side hustle”. If you played previous game you would know that Siren and Erika can combine their magic of Order and Chaos to go back in time. But they didn’t pull “Back to Future 2” instead they just send student who failed their exams back in time to give them a second chance. But their scheme got busted and now Erika has to answer to the counsel which is led by her Grandma. Plus Erika’s father who abandoned her at the age of 12 shows up and he’s CEO of Abracadabra. And then there are “chaos extremists” who wanted to start some big stuff and basically wage war against light mages of order.
I’m going to skip the gameplay part since there is nothing new apart from mini games and new scenes. You know if it a book or cartoon tv series I’d watch it. If you want a reason to play this game the plot is a good reason. The prices are still bites though.
